Identifying & Confronting Racism in Professional Settings

This course is designed to support professionals in identifying and addressing race and class inequities that lead to disparate outcomes for communities of color.  The course examines narratives, behaviors, and policies that contribute to race discrimination in the workplace.  Participants are offered guidance in advocating for equity in professional settings. 

Upon course completion, participants will be able to: 

  • define and give examples of internalized, interpersonal, institutional, and systemic racism

  • identify factors that contribute to race and class inequities

  • determine where you are on the antiracism journey

  • review and reframe popular narratives about race and class groups

  • define specific acts of covert and overt racism

  • identify strategies to promote equity and take next steps in advocacy 

  • promote awareness in professional spaces

  • foster continued learning
