​REACT Initiative, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that addresses barriers impeding the educational access and success of individuals from historically marginalized populations.  We identify and address unjust educational practices while contributing to the continued development of professionals serving diverse populations.  Our services, therefore, extend beyond schools and universities to clinics, hospitals, corporations, childcare facilities, nonprofits, religious organizations, and more.

Respect The Dialect

Dionna Latimer-Hearn is the visionary and founder of Respect The Dialect.  Respect The Dialect is a community that began on Facebook and expanded to other social media platforms including Twitter (@RespectDialect) and Instagram (@RespectTheDialect).  We exist to promote awareness and appreciation of African American English (AAE) across settings.  The organization provides continuing education for professionals interested in working to erase linguicism and language subordination and language supremacy in contemporary society.  ​

The Culture We Speak

Dionna Latimer-Hearn is the founder and producer of The Culture We Speak, a podcast and Facebook group examining the intersection of culture, language, and education.  On this platform we decenter mainstream gaze and offer resources to improve educator effectiveness in serving global majority populations.
